bathroom redo

One of the projects that got pushed to the back burner when Grady was born was redoing our downstairs bathroom.

It had pretty much sat in the same state from when we moved in and finally the terribly outdated countertop got the best of us.

So we decided to do something about it. Starting with removing it.

Instead of spending beaucoup bucks on buying a new countertop, we decided to purchase a $60 butcher block top from Ikea. Josh measured the size of the old countertop and traced where the sink hole should be.

And while the top was off, it made for easy painting of the cabinet base.

The other major change in the bathroom was adding board and batten on the opposite wall.
A great place to hang towels.

And when it was all said and done...

We bought a new shower curtain and runner from Target.

Completely revamped the cabinet.

Hung a new mirror.
(This mirror had been hanging out in our storage room just waiting for a home)

Added board and batten.

Put up simple reminders as art.

Organized the towels and magazines.

Old shutter = great magazine rack.

Old wire crate = great towel storage.

Organized the countertop.

Added vintage storage jars and mirrors.

And hung pretty hand towels.

And that's all it took to redo our bathroom.

Who knew you could still accomplish big projects with a baby around?
